Seymour's greatest ability is that of manipulation. He's extremely good at twisting people around his fingers without letting them realize it. He is an accomplished speaker, knowing exactly what to say and when to say it to have the greatest effect. He is strategic and cunning, planning things out to a degree that is simply mind-boggling. He is also good at reading people for the better of his goals. As far as magic goes, he still retains his spell knowledge, though casting anything has become extremely difficult here. Also, he can no longer summon Anima, nor can he create those weapons and shields around himself anymore. Seymour believes himself to be on the verge of becoming a god and as such thinks he is in place to do what is right by everyone. Of course, his way of saving everyone is by killing them. He doesn't believe in life, in living without suffering. He has himself very well deluded into thinking he is their only way to inner peace. He also has a slight temper. It doesn't come out very often, but can be triggered when someone tries to do something he's told them not to or doesn't like or doesn't think will help. He also has almost an obsession with Yuna and will do just about anything to find her and use her to help his ends. He's also very stubborn with his beliefs and goals, sometimes to the point of losing touch with a small bit of reality as he tries to hold onto his plans. |

| Seymour's hair is bright blue and mostly falls to about shoulder-length in the back. On either side and in front his hair forms antennae-like spikes. The side ones fall well past his elbows and the one in front hovers near chest-length. His eyes are a light purple-blue in color and usually hold an air about them that says he's better than you are and he knows it. People either respect him on sight or get that "I don't like you but I have no idea why" feeling. Seymour wears a beaded blue and yellow necklace on a brown thong that connects in front at his collar bone, just above the identical black tattoos on his chest, and then falls down past his belly and attaches to the middle of the red fabric on his robe. His overrobe is a blue-ish purple and attaches with buttons and beads to his red underrobe. Both flow down past his feet, but are open in the front so he can walk without tripping himself. A large green sash tied in front holds everything on and he has black pants and boots on underneath the robes. | Seymour has quite the Messianic Complex by the time the game actually starts. When he was young, his mother gave herself up to be a fayth so that he could become a powerful summoner and thus be accepted by the rest of the world. He didn't want this and sorely missed her. The suffering he endured by both human and Guado for the early part of his life combined with the pain he felt at losing his mother. Eventually, all this came to a head when the extremely smart young man decided that the only way to save Spira was not through the summoners as everyone believed. The way to save Spira was to end everyone's suffering, end everyone's lives. Seymour truly believes this is the only way anyone will ever truly be happy and everything he does acts on this. He is extremely smart and cunning, very good at manipulating people and getting them to do and believe what he wants of them. He shows no remorse for any of his actions as he believes he is not a murderer, but the world's savior. He will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, though he's decent enough at hiding his motivation. He also has an almost obsessive relationship with the promising young summoner, Yuna Braska, believing her to be a link in his plan, something he needs to complete his quest. | ||||

| Seymour was the product of a Guado father and a human mother. Maester Jyscall Guado married a human woman in the hopes of uniting the two races. What happened instead was that the Guado shunned the woman he had chosen. To avoid causing further turmoil within the Guado, Jyscall exiled his wife and son, to protect them. Knowing that her time was limited by illness, Seymour's mother offered herself up as a fayth for the summoning, saying that her son would be accepted by the people of Spira if he could use her fayth and become a summoner to defeat Sin. Seymour rejected his mother's summon, Anima, for years because he simply wanted a mother to help and love him. Eventually, he came to accept this power as his beliefs about saving the people of Spira started to evolve. In order to make his plans come to fruition, he would need a power greater than Anima's, though now he was willing to use her to help him. When Seymour was 18, his exile was revoked and he returned to Guadosalam, where he was ordained as a priest of Macalania, the temple of Yevon that the Guado held in possession. Seven years later, he accepted Anima's power and had her fayth moved to the temple at Baaj. Ultimately, it was here that he came to the conclusion that he had to lift the curtain of pain and suffering from those living on Spira. As a result, he saw Sin, the ultimate destructive force on Spira, as the only way save the people. The ultimate goal he set for himself was to ascend the heriarchy of Yevon and ultimately destroy Spira in its entirety. Shortly before the game begins, Seymour discretely murders his own father and takes over as both leader of the Guado and as Maester of Yevon. In Luca, his eyes fall on Yuna and he begins to see the prodigal summoner as his key to becomming Sin and completing his goals. Directly after the blitzball tournament, he orchestrates the release of fiends in the blitzball arena as a way to show off his power with Anima and gain even more support from the people of Spira. On his way to Mushroom Rock, Seymour encountered Lady Yuna again and convinced the Crusaders to let her pass, knowing that letting her see the war against Sin would be beneficial in the long run. Yuna and her guardians are allowed through and follow the path up to the command center. Seymour is here to show support for the Crusaders and the Al Bhed who are attempting to fight Sin with machina forbidden by Yevon. The operation fails miserably and Seymour returns home to Guadosalam, knowing that Yuna's pilgrimmage would soon bring her to his home. |
While waiting, he is visited by Baralai, who he agrees to hide for a time. Their interaction is small, however, and soon Seymour is showing Yuna and her guardians a sphere of Zanarkand in order to gain their support. Not long after this, he asks Yuna to marry him, saying that this would further help unite Spira. A Maester who is half-Guado and half-human marrying a summoner who is half-human and half-Al Bhed would bring the people of Spira into a unity that would not come about any other way. Not long after, Yuna descovers Seymour's true disposition through a memory sphere dropped by the spirit of Jyscal in the Farplane. When she goes to confront Seymour, she finds he has departed for Macalania and so she follows. Having expected her to accept his proposal, Seymour is more than a little surprised to find that she has come to stop him, though he doesn't discover this until after Yuna has acquired the fayth Shiva at the Temple. A battle ensues where both Seymour and Anima are defeated and this is where Seymour technically dies. His loyal Guado followers, led by Tromell, comes to get him before anything can be done about him, and so Seymour is allowed to become what is known as an "unsent": his spirit remains alive and well and his body is able to be injured, but he is dead and the only thing keeping him on Spira is the knowledge that he has an important goal to accomplish. Seymour waits for just the right time to attack and eventually manages to kidnap Yuna from the Al Bhed Home on Bikanel Island. He takes her to Bevelle where she agrees to marry him in the hopes that she can send him. Her guardians interrupt halfway through, leaving her with no choice but to marry him or forfeit their lives. After being put on trial for high treason, they escape and confront Seymour at the entrance to Bevelle. It is here that they learn of his role in Maester Kinoc's recent death and his plot to become the next Sin. Kimahri tries to run him through, causing Seymour to transform into Seymour Natus. After the battle, Seymour escaped before Yuna could send him and followed them on their way to Mount Gagazet, killing most of the Ronso who attempted to stop him. Apprehending Yuna as she passed through the mountain, a battle ensued. He was once again defeated and managed to escape before Yuna could send him. As his pyreflies were being separated, he was absorbed and deposited in Manhattan, where he would wake up injury-free and ready to begin anew. |
